- Yayawoo is a duo comprised of Malaysian character designers, Edmund and Kwan Yin Ma. Founded in 2006, Yayawoo has been consistently creating and illustrating characters at are at once lovable and spooky. Graduates of the Dasein Academy of Art in Malaysia, Edmund and Kwan Yin Ma both hold down full time jobs as graphic designers. Their passion for illustration, character and graphic design lead them to the forming of Yayawoo, an exploration of their personal creative work and talents. Yayawoo's illustrations evoke feelings of happiness, the viewer's imagination is expanded and takes flight encountering strange and fascinating characters. Multi eyed ghouls frolicking and congregate in a pool of water in one instance. In another illustration, a starry eye cat stares intensely, winking at the viewer, out of a rainy wonderland. Tentacles and squirts of substance spontaneously erupt from eyeless characters.
